Representatives of the Department of Biology and Ecology took part in an off-site meeting at the ISC Observatory on Mount Pip Ivan

Representatives of the Department of Biology and Ecology took part in an off-site meeting at the International Scientific Centre “Observatory” on Mount Pip Ivan. The meeting brought together members of the parliamentary committee responsible for environmental policy, representatives of the State Environmental Inspectorate and other stakeholders.
Participants discussed environmental monitoring, water protection, biodiversity conservation, the effects of human pressure on natural systems and the practical use of research data. The Observatory’s high-altitude location and infrastructure provide a platform for environmental, climate, atmospheric and biological monitoring. Its position near the headwaters of several rivers is particularly valuable for studying water and mountain ecosystems.
The university was represented by Rector Ihor Tsependa, Observatory Director Myroslava Mylenka, Nadiia Riznychuk, Arsen Kyzym and students. The research presented by the university covered climate, mountain ecosystems, catchments, biodiversity, digital monitoring and the impacts of human activity. Students’ field research was also discussed as an important part of their education.
The meeting highlighted the role of the Department of Biology and Ecology in developing research and educational work at the Observatory and in applying scientific findings to environmental protection
