On 19 October, representatives of three institutions met online to discuss cooperation on meteorological observations and climate research at the International Scientific Centre “Observatory” on Mount Pip Ivan.
The Observatory was represented by its Director, Myroslava Mylenka, and Scientific Secretary Uliana Semak, a lecturer at the Department of Biology and Ecology of Carpathian National University named after Vasyl Stefanyk. Veronika Filonenko, Director of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, joined the meeting alongside representatives of the Central Geophysical Observatory named after Boris Sreznevsky: Deputy Director for Hydrometeorology Olena Kosovets-Skavronska and Hanna Doroshenko.
The discussion focused on coordinating joint meteorological observations and climate research at the high-altitude site. Participants considered how sustained observations at the Observatory could contribute to a better understanding of climate processes in the Ukrainian Carpathians.
The meeting opened a working dialogue between the institutions on developing this cooperation further.
